About Bedrock Books

Bill Borneman is the proprietor of Bedrock Books & Art, an online source for fine used books, located in Helena’s Rodney Street neighborhood. The bookstore is generally closed to public traffic, and is open upon request and appointment, and during the occasional literary event featuring local writers and musicians.

Bill also paints houses, plays guitar and drums, draws grid-inspired art, and writes poetry and prose in his spare time.

In the mid-1970s, Bill earned a Philosophy degree from the University of Montana and also took writing classes from the legendary professors Richard Hugo and William Kittredge.

He and his wife Patti have lived in Helena since 1979, where they continue to restore their century-old house on the Westside. They have one son, Karl, and one granddaughter, Annika.
